More than 10% of annual yield losses are caused by fungal diseases. These losses can be quantitative resulting in yield loss or qualitative affecting products marketability. Fungicides are pesticides that prevent, kill, mitigate or inhibit the growth of fungi on plants. They can be classified based on application timing in preventative and curative. Of the numerous factors affecting the efficiency of Fungicides, including plant absorption properties and weather conditions, the most important is the ability to deliver the appropriate amount of Fungicide to each plant. By optimizing preventative applications, it is ensured that full foliage coverage for protection against fungal infection is achieved.

Augmenta ●LIVEVRA| Fung applies a recommended dose of Fungicide smartly. This allows the reduction of waste and input costs while securing crops’ health. Because the Augmenta System is camera-based, it uniquely uses computer vision techniques and dynamic algorithms to understand varying plant biomass within a given field. It does this by creating a vegetation index to generate its own on-going Fungicide prescription map. This is then used to control an actuated sprayer and automatically apply appropriate amounts of Fungicide in real-time and in a single pass. 


The service of Augmenta for variable rate application of fungicides can be utilized in multiple arable crops (wheat, barley, soybean, OSR, etc.) for preventative operations during which chemical usage can be reduced up to 10%*.

Reduction of chemical usage is essential for sustainable productivity with decreased cost of production and milder environmental impact. It can also contribute to fungicides’ resistance management as according to FRAC, lowering the amount of fungicide in the environment lowers the selection pressure for resistance to develop.
